SERC PhD candidate and mathematics lecturer in Indonesia, Achmad Badrun Kurnia, has been appointed to Indonesian country coordinator for the International Statistical Literacy Project (ISLP).
This prestigious role will see Badrun using his expertise and sharing his knowledge to help Indonesian school students improve their statistical literacy.
Badrun wants to support school students as well as pre-service mathematics teachers to have a “critical appreciation of statistical knowledge, both as data producers and consumers”. As this will “help them to be better informed citizens and mathematics teachers who, in turn, can create improved critical statistical learning environments for their students”.
From all of us at SERC, we would like to congratulate Badrun on this fantastic achievement and wish him well as he continues to grow as an early career researcher.
You can read the full article about Badrun’s appointment on page 25 of the ISLP Newsletter for May 2020.
